Growth is inevitable in our economic system. If we stop growing, we will all have more time for ourselves, as we have a very advanced civilization already. Running an advanced civilization without huge piles of waste is our current task.
As renewable energy has much less energy density than fossil fuels we need to concentrate even more on a
maximum efficient energy system.
Let's compare the centraised approach versus the decentralised approach
We must retrofit our entire civilisation to be based on renewables in the next 30 years.
To even closely do that we could downsize our whole economic system on the one hand (to build a smaller new system) and upscale renewables at very fast speed on the other hand.
The build up of sufficient renewables in that short time frame can only be achieved when we use the most efficient approach which has been shown to be a supergird to connect remote locations with good quality renewable potential to the productive centres of the projected region.
INTRENEX aims at building such a system in the form of a “transnational energy cooperative” where every private investor in renewables can consume the electricity generated from his own investment at the maximum efficiency, thus the lowest price possible.
To start this company a crowdfunding event will take place in 2017 where we want to raise 100.000 Euros to operate the company for at least five years. In these five years, energy futures will be sold for private investors that should at least amount to 1 billion Euros that the project can scale up at sufficient speed. This energy-future embodies the right to receive 10.000 kWh of green electric energy.

There is one single fact that I want you to take away, when you leave this site:
There are currently 6 TW of fossil fuelled electrical power stations running on a 24/7 basis on this planet and the entire machinery our civilisation runs on, delivers approximately a constant 15 TW of energy 24/7. If we only replaced electrical energy (6 TW) with the largest wind turbines available today (E-126; 7,5 MW), we will need 800.000 of them. Even if we manage to completely install one of those in one single day, this would take 2191 years.
We must finish this job at maximum in 30 years, so we will have to install 74 of them in one day for the next 30 years 24/7!
I hope you get the message here that this task is gigantic and requires an exorbitant amount of work and money.
We can not do this on a country by country basis and we can not afford to do this with inefficient machinery that requires additional storage in gargantuan size or smart grids with a gazillion microcomputers in every electrcial appliance. Intrenex will create a simple, strong, self regulating grid, similar to the reliant one that we have already, and connect the most efficient locations for renewable energy installations with the largest consumers worldwide.
This grid technology (HVDC) is available today and has only moderate losses so that it makes perfect sense to create a global "Supergrid". This solution is gigantic, but all humans on earth will benefit from cheap clean energy in the future, after the 30 years of the installation period has been finished.
